Virtual reality gaming centre opens in Long Sutton this weekend
Lincolnshire’s first virtual reality centre will open on Saturday (March 9) in Long Sutton.
VR Zone, at Hodding Way, is set up as a place for people to experience cutting-edge fun.
Owners Tele and Purdy Barros got the idea for the centre when they visited the Insomnia gaming show in Birmingham with their Fortnite-obsessed sons.
While there, the couple experienced a VR rig and decided that was what the county needed.
“There’s nothing in Long Sutton for teens,” Tele said.
“People can come to us to play games, they don’t need to be hanging around and they’ll be somewhere safe,” he added.
VR Zone has six VR stations, each running PCs with VIVE Pro headsets.
Former wine merchant Tele said the centre is suitable for everything from single player sessions to birthday parties.
The soft opening of the centre starts at midday on Saturday.
VR is suitable for children aged 8 and up, under-11s must be accompanied by an adult.
